Stage IV Lung Cancer: Avoid It

Lung cancer is a disease that can kill men and women. A condition of cancer cells or abnormal cells that attacks our healthy cells and destroys it and at the same time forming lumps or what we call tumors. If left uncured, it will cause severe pain, complications and sudden death. All of us must be vigilant with our health especially with stage iv lung cancer.

Smokers and never smokers can be victims of this disease. There is no age limit since lung cancer cannot only be acquired through smoking cigarettes or tobacco. Patients who have never smoked possibly worked in an environment that is exposed to pollutants or carcinogens. Radon gas, agent orange and asbestos fibers are just few examples that can cause lung cancer.

Stage iv lung cancer is already incurable and treatments are only helping to relieve symptoms that causes too much pain for the patient. A patient is lucky enough to detect the disease can have it cured during the early stage. However, patients who were not able to visit an oncologist at an earliest time does not have the same luck with them. It is too late for the tumor to be removed for it may have developed already to the opposite lung or more worst is if it has metastasized to the liver, bones and brain.

Stage iv lung cancer can be avoided if we will just be aware of what we feel or experience in our body. The most common symptom for this disease is coughing. It is difficult however to determine that you are suffering from this kind of illness since the symptoms or signs do not develop unless it has already reached stage 3 or 4. The best thing we can do is to visit a doctor who is specialized in lung cancer.

It is not that easy to avoid from having stage iv lung cancer. However, we can prevent ourselves from acquiring the disease and from reaching it to the very last stage which can lead us to death. There are so many ways that we can do to reduce the chances to be at risk with cancer. The first is to quit smoking cigarettes or tobacco. It will not only prevent you from acquiring lung cancer but as well as other kinds of cancer like, throat, mouth, and liver cancer. Screening tests or techniques are done to detect cancer at the earliest stage. And of course, it is best to maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating vegetables and fruits which are rich in antioxidants that helps in repairing damaged cells.

Small Cell Lung Cancer Life Expectancy – And A New Cure!

The small cell lung cancer life expectancy is not good. Provided that you went to a doctor, you have probably found that he can give you a fairly accurate estimation of how much time you have left. Now, if you have small cell lung cancer, be sure to check out this webpage, which offers a lot of promise, and has changed a lot of lives. Good luck!

There is a lot of controversy, when it comes to cancer treatment. The small cell lung cancer life expectancy is not long, but if you apply chemotherapy it can be prolonged significantly. Of course, that is done at the expense of the extreme nausea, and other side effects which will make your remaining time not very pleasant. That’s why you should start looking for other options – and read the above linked web page carefully.

It is a myth, that there is no cure for cancer – there are many possible treatment options, but none of them is 100% consistent. However, we are coming closer and closer, and soon will have a definite cure. Until then, people can experiment with various cures, and also – read the stories of people who have gone through this type of cancer. The small cell lung cancer is one of the most common cancers, and affects close to 10% of cancer patients.

When it comes to small cell lung cancer life expectancy, no accurate prognosis should be made. The fact that many doctors tell you what they expect is in a way bad. You may think that it gives you an accurate way to plan your future, but all it does is makes you give up any hope. Once you realize that there is a way for the cancer to be beaten, you should start moving forward, and trying those cancer cures – it’s your life that we are talking about, and there actually is a way to reverse the cancer completely, put it in remission, and forget about the disease completely. Good luck!

Lung Cancer Stages Prognosis

The genome of human beings is the human genome. Lung Cancer Stages Prognosis A Genome is a full set of chromosomes. Studying this genome can result in a lot of findings that can be applied to cure diseases. One of the primary beneficiaries of this is that the biological changes due to any disease in the genome can be found out and hence therapy can be formulated to battle against cancer due to results from the human genome project for lung cancer.

A study which was the human genome Project for lung cancer was recently conducted by a group of international scientists to study the underlying effects on genes when you have lung cancer. They were effectively trying to map the genetic changes to the lung cancer. The results of this study indicate the presence of a number of undiscovered genes in the lung cancer cells. Apart from this the scientists discovered a critical gene alteration. This provides more targets for therapy. Apart from the increased potential to formulate new strategies for therapy, this increases the knowledge of the biology of lung cancer and thus will be able to answer the question “how does lung cancer begin?” It has served to find the missing pieces of the puzzle and this research is beneficial for other types of cancers too. This is because the findings from this series of tests indicate a general procedure that should be followed for other types of cancer as well.

It is known that lung cancer arises from changes in the DNA that accrue throughout a person’s life. Hence studying the human genes and mapping the changes to lung cancer allows the researchers to find out the specific changes that occur in the genes that contribute to lung cancer. It is because of the lack of this knowledge that researchers are not able to find better treatment for cancer. The Human Genome Project for Lung Cancer attempts to bridge this divide and thus make discoveries that can be translated to effective therapy for lung cancer patients. The study conducted by these international scientists has managed to pinpoint the exact gene that regulates the activity of cancer cells. This is a huge step towards understanding the genetic alterations and the effect it has on the cancer. The key goal is to identify vulnerabilities in the cancer cells so that it can be taken advantage of while trying to remove cancer cells from the body. This is possible only by learning as much as possible about the cancer by pinpointing specific genetic changes in the lung. This helps in the drug formulations. With the knowledge that only a select group of cells control cancerous growth, drugs can formulated to specifically target those group of cells hence making the drug extremely effective in removing cancer cells.

This study was just a pilot project for the bigger study to follow. The next Human Genome Project for lung cancer study will try to unearth all the possible genetic causes of lung cancer. The results expected from the next project are expected to be comprehensive and to enhance the knowledge about the genetic causes of lung cancer. It can increase the number of general facts on lung cancer.

How Do I Qualify For A Clinical Trial For Lung Cancer?

Qualifying for a clinical trial for lung cancer is not an easy decision to make. It requires a lot from the person who plans on undergoing the trial because of the risks which is incorporated with the different trials made.

A participant who is to undergo such a procedure is required to be firm with the decision and should understand the different benefits and risks which will be thoroughly discussed by your doctor. When you have convinced yourself that you are ready for the consequences, then you can qualify for the test.

A clinical trial is a study designed to evaluate a newer treatment for a certain disease. In order to make up a decision, you must first know how the procedure is being administered. However, it is also vital to remember that majority of cases being treated with the new regimen has shown promising effects than that of the usual modalities and current therapies.

People who are into clinical trials are taken care of by experts who closely monitor their patient’s development and personal well-being. On the other hand, people who undergoes this procedure are the ones who will first receive the newest treatments provided that their health and any kind of progress or side effect is thoroughly monitored by the researchers and doctors involved.

Usually, clinical trials are set up in a way that the patients are assigned in a random manner to a particular group that is bound to receive the accepted standard of treatment or any kind of experimental intervention. Initially, the first patients will receive the current therapy there is. While the next set of patients belonging to the experimental group will receive the newest found treatment. For the people who are receiving a newer version of the treatment can mean several things which will depend on the trial that was designated. It’s either a new combination of medications and procedures, new drugs, new way of administering the drug and new dosages. Clinical trials are usually made up of four different phases wherein a number of people are asked to participate.

A clinical trial tends to end when there is already enough satisfying information gathered in order to answer whether the new discovery was successful in the fight against lung cancer. Some of the reasons would be:

1. The drug is a definite cure or can allow a person affected with the disease to live longer compared to the current therapies.

2. Positive effects are evident in providing a better quality of life for a cancer patient such as experiencing fewer drug side effects, normal body weigh maintenance, and having a more effective coping mechanism.

3. Amount of remission time of a cancer patient.

In order to know if you are ready to receive clinical trial you must first evaluate the basic advantages and disadvantages it may contribute to your condition. You should understand the different treatments that is offered by the researchers. When the options are laid down, you must be able to understand the different procedures that will be done apart from the standardized treatment of your lung cancer. By then you will be able to decide and eventually qualify for a clinical trial for lung cancer.
